Nassau Visit 2006 is finally taking shape. I've started a webpage and will be advertising the events and opportunities there soon.
I guested on Patty Roker's Island FM show with Dr Bethel yesterday afternoon, and I've snipped the extract. It's a Windows Media Player file, and it's about 3.5Mb but it may stream, otherwise right click to download and play. Let me know if probs: roker_dg.wma.
U.K. Fellowship Supports Bahamian Arts & Business I missed this first time around. It's the announcement of the funding for BAB.
Culture Under Threat is more analysis, this time a bit more downbeat, but it's great that it's been read!
Renewed Focus On Culture and Council For National Arts And Culture Proposed are write-ups of the Cultural Conclave where the draft cultural policy was launched.
I wonder what effect this will have on the cultural conclave and our larger plans for the arts council etc.? PM Reshuffles Cabinet: "The Department of Culture and the other culture-related matters have been transferred to the Office of the Prime Minister. This will extend to the National Cultural Commission, the Antiquities, Museums & Monuments Corporation and the Clifton Heritage Authority as well, it was announced. 'It is important that the development of our national identity and to the deepening of Bahamian culture generally that we bring the highest level of government support to the efforts of our artists and artisans,' Prime Minister Christie said. 'The transfer of these matters to the Office of the Prime Minister should therefore serve as a signal of this new emphasis.'"
Here's an invite on the Arts Bahamas website to the Cultural Conclave where the new Cultural Policy draft will be discussed.
Over in the Bahamian section of my life, I have been collaborating on a draft Bahamas National Cultural Policy. All comments via that strand.

Feel free to comment to it via comments to the blog, or send either of us more detailed feedback. Get if from here.
